MANAGING YOUR APPOINTMENT

How do you choose a process agent provider?

The short answer

Judge a process agent on five things: permanence of its address, evidenced process standards, published fixed fees, speed to appointment, and independence. The agent has one job, being reliably there when documents arrive years from now, so stability and process matter far more than branding or postcode.

01

The five tests

Permanence: a professional agent should operate from owned, staffed premises, not a serviced address that may not exist in year six of your facility. Standards: look for independently audited certifications; we hold ISO 9001 and ISO 27001, certified by the UKAS accredited British Assessment Bureau, plus Cyber Essentials. Fees: published, fixed and all inclusive, so £125 per year means £125 per year. Speed: confirmation within 24 hours and a genuine same day letter service. Independence: an agent that only does this, with no conflicting role in your transaction.

02

Questions worth asking any provider

How quickly will you notify us when documents are served, and by what methods? What happens if documents arrive that do not relate to our agreement? Will you review the clause wording against your appointment before we sign? What do additional letters, amendments and extensions cost? Do you write to us before a fixed term expires? Clear, immediate answers to those questions are themselves the evidence you are buying.

03

Track record without the mystery

Expert process agent firms should be able to show longevity and volume: Tremark has provided the service since 1995, with more than 10,000 appointments completed for clients in over 60 countries, and reviews you can read on Google. Compare any provider on the five tests above and the decision usually makes itself; our published pricing is on the instant quote and the full FAQ sits here.
