From costs and turnaround times to confidentiality and the specifics of being served. The most frequently asked questions about working with Tremark Process Agents.
We offer two types of service. You can appoint Tremark Process Agents on an annual rolling agreement at £125 per year, or you can opt for a non-revocable fixed term agreement (this is sometimes required by lenders). A fixed term agreement can also work out more cost effective. For example, a 5 year fixed agreement is £460, which provides a saving of £165 over 5 years compared to the annual rolling agreement. For a full breakdown, see our Fees page.
Yes. We completely understand and can reduce your burden by providing clear, reliable advice and a professional service that meets your needs. Please reach out to us by email, via our Contact Us page, or send us a message via WhatsApp using the green icon. We can also set up a Teams video call and screen share if that helps.
Our standard turnaround time is two to three working days, although many facilities are established faster than this. If you have an urgent need for a process agent, we offer a guaranteed same day service for an additional fee. Completed order forms need to be received before 2pm UK time. If it is after 2pm, please contact us, as it may still be possible to return the documentation on the same day, depending on the complexity of the appointment. These situations are decided on a case-by-case basis.
For a fixed term appointment, usually not. An annual facility is invoiced each year until cancellation. Apart from this, we would only charge additional fees if you requested additional services, such as an amendment to an existing facility or an extension to one which is expiring.
Once the facility is established, we will send you a signed confirmation letter, a countersigned version of the order form you provided (forming our contract with you), and our invoice.
We accept payments via bank transfer, debit card, or credit card. Our bank details and a link for card payments will be provided to you once we have received your completed order form.
We supply the appointor with our formal letter of appointment at no extra fee. This is included within the service. Further letters of appointment can be supplied to additional parties at a cost of £50 per letter. Should a third party require their own worded letter of appointment provided on our letterhead, or a separate letter countersigning theirs, an additional fee of £50 will be charged. We will of course need to check the wording of the letter to ensure that it does not differ from our agreement with you.
Yes. We can invoice clients in a range of currencies including USD, EUR, JPY, GBP, AUD, CAD, CHF, and CNY. Online and card payments are accepted for your convenience.
We offer a quick and efficient service. We will contact you as soon as the notice is received, usually within 1 working day. You will then have the option of whether you would like the notice scanned and sent to you via email (most clients\' preferred option), sent via Royal Mail, or sent via courier for an additional fee.
We accept service of proceedings in the UK for notices, proceedings, or other documents issued from the courts of England and Wales, as well as for arbitration proceedings. We protect against invalid service and carefully examine all served papers, and we do not accept legal documents unrelated to the financial transaction in which we are named.
A UK process agent is an independent party appointed to receive legal notices and court documents on behalf of a company or individual, typically in connection with a contract governed by English law. This ensures that documents can be validly served within England and Wales, even where the contracting party is based overseas.
A process agent is commonly required when a contracting party is not based in the UK, when an agreement is governed by English law, or when the contract includes a service of process clause. Process agents are frequently appointed in loan agreements, ISDA documentation, lease agreements and cross-border commercial contracts.
Lenders and law firms require a process agent to ensure there is a reliable, legally recognised address in England and Wales where legal documents can be served quickly and effectively. This reduces enforcement risk and avoids delays caused by international service of documents.
Tremark Process Agents acts for UK and international lenders, law firms, corporates and financial institutions, individuals residing overseas taking a loan or mortgage from a UK lender, and overseas companies entering English-law governed contracts. We regularly support cross-border finance and commercial transactions.

In most cases we can be appointed the same day, once we have the appointment clause or draft agreement and basic client due diligence information. Urgent and completion-driven transactions are routinely accommodated.
Yes. We regularly act for non-UK companies that require a UK process agent for English-law governed agreements. Our service is designed to be straightforward for overseas clients, with clear appointment documentation and efficient communication.
